Job Description
- As a successful Credit Analyst, you will partner theteam's two key stakeholder communities, Sales & RelationshipManagement and Risk, to deliver credit and product solutions. Therewill be emphasis on credit report writing as well as risk analysisand due diligence. Your daily job would include:
- To partner with Relationship Managers in pursuing theirclient strategies through proactive idea generation, support inpreparing materials for client discussion and through discussion onkey risk aspects. Accompanying Relationship Managers on clientvisits, as part of general due diligence in respect of creditanalysis.
- To partner with Risk through clearpresentation of credit proposal, as well as through proactivediscussion of key risk aspects.
- To provideinsightful, relevant, succinct, and timely credit analysis of aportfolio of SCB's clients, current or prospective.
- Documentation support on credit aspects and working withLegal Documentation Unit where applicable.
- Proactive monitoring of key entity or industry wideevents and/or developments, as well as of covenants and risktriggers where applicable.
- Support TeamManager and others in the team on ad hoc projects, strategicinitiatives and exercises aimed at improving or enhancing theteam's activities.
- Contribute towardsachieving team's overall target and delivering optimal portfolioreturn.
- Collaborate and build effectivepartnerships with other Credit Analysts, Relationship Managers,Team Managers, Segment Heads, as well as colleagues in CDD teamsand partners in Risk, Compliance, other support functions, andProduct.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- To achieve agreed individual financial and non-financialtargets by acquiring, growing and retaining profitable MediumEnterprise customers within acceptable risk parameters.
- Contribute toward achieving team's overall target anddelivering optimal portfolio return.
- Collaborate and build effective partnerships with otherRelationship Managers, Credit Analysts, Team Managers, SegmentHeads, as well as colleagues in CDD teams and partners in Risk,Compliance, other support functions, andProduct.
Business
- Prepare credit proposal and loan application ofcustomers; prepare annual review on timely basis
- Work closely with credit team to ensure good qualitylending decisions are made; to ensure the strict adherence to theprevailing EAR / credit policy
- Implementagreed business plan, contributing towards team's overalldeliverables
- Regularly feedback to TeamManager and peers on new and anticipated financial and serviceneeds and recommend appropriate improvements toprocesses
- Maintain a high level ofprofessionalism in client engagement, internal stakeholdermanagement and other businessconduct
Processes
- Drive continuous improvement of the operationalefficiency and effectiveness of processes to increase theconsistency of systems and processes.
- Supportthe framework for effective management of operational risks acrossthe Business and compliance with applicable internal policies, andexternal laws and regulations at a global level.
- Support the execution of Business strategy in a safe andwell-controlled manner and on an end-to-end basis - incorporatinginfrastructure requirements and ensuring that they arefit-for-growth.
- Follow and comply with AML CDDpolicies and procedures where applicable
- Identify KYC issues, provide solution or escalate to linemanager if necessary
- Ensure internal /external KYC requirements are adhered to AML CDD policies andprocedures
- Timely handling of customer issues,complaints, and product enquiries in accordance with establishedprocedures

RiskManagement
- Abide byappropriate frameworks to guarantee that business is carried outwithin the Group's risk appetite and relevant risks areappropriately managed in conjunction with line managers otherstakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with thehighest standards of regulatory conduct and compliance standardsand practices as defined by internal and external requirements.This includes compliance with regulations and guidelines onSanctions, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Environmental andSocial Risk Management (ESRM).
- Abide by theGroup's values and code of conduct and foster a robust culture toensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, andcompliance with relevant policies, processes, and regulations amongemployees.
- Ensure that Risk Management mattersthat are brought to the job holder's attention are subject todirect remedial action and/or ensure adequate reporting to therelevant superiors and/or Risk Committees.

Our IdealCandidate
- Degree inAccountancy, Banking & Finance, Business Management, Economicsor comparable.
- 2 plus years of relevant workexperience in Business Banking/ Commercial Banking/ CorporateBanking.
- Strong analytical ability focused onthe assessment and calibration of credit risk.
- Proven ability to work across cultures and within adynamic environment.
- Good understanding offinancial statement analysis and banking products such as trade,lending, FX etc.
- Team player with a can-doattitude.
