DevOps Engineer

This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

Job Family Definition:

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

Management Level Definition:

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, support, and troubleshoot virtualized infrastructure and computer networks
• Deploy and manage monitoring tools of infrastructure performance, utilization, and health
• Adopt & practise configuration management best practices
• Build and maintain automation tools for operation and maintenance
• Documenting processes, changes, incidents, and resolutions of the managed infrastructure
• Collaborates and communicates with internal and external partners regarding software system/network design status, project progress and issue resolution.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Good understanding of computer OS, networking, container platform and virtual machines
• Experience in Production deployments and operations
• Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Has good understanding in system architecture
• Preferably has experience using automation tools like ansible
• Preferably has experience using monitoring and log management tools
• Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English
• Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
