Portfolio Execution Group

The Portfolio Execution Group (PEG) encompasses multiple teams that perform a range of functional roles including trade execution, funding and liquidity management, securities financing, beta replication and asset rebalancing, and applied quantitative research. This group comprises four sub-teams – Balance Sheet Management Group (BMG), Beta and Asset Rebalancing (BAR), Global Trading Unit (GTU) and Applied Research Unit (ARU).

Global Trading Unit

We are the first port of call for GIC’s investment teams and external counterparties in all trading-related matters. We are passionate about delivering timely and impactful market intelligence to stakeholders, as well as leveraging on technology and superior research to achieve best execution.

We are looking for a candidate who is interested in developing a successful career as a Trader focusing on liquid markets across Equites / Fixed Income / FX with GIC, based in Singapore.

What will you do?

• Partner with portfolio management teams to manage execution risks and implement investment views across a wide range of cash and derivatives instruments.
• Synthesize market themes and insights, produce timely and differentiated intelligence to stakeholders.
• Collaborate within the team and with technology partners to envision and develop tools to enhance trading outcomes and optimize transaction costs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• 2 - 5 years of relevant trading experience in APAC financial markets with sound knowledge of financial instruments, market drivers and dynamics.
• Keen interest in financial markets and current events.
• Good intuition around visualization and drawing insights from data.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as R, Python and SQL is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; effective in building interpersonal relationships to positively impact business outcomes.
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with attention to details.
• Pleasant, dynamic, self-motivated and team oriented.
