Job Description
About the Cybersecurity Incident Responder Role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for promptly detecting, investigating, and mitigating cybersecurity incidents to fortify the information security defences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Identification and Analysis:
- Monitor and assess security alerts and events to identify potential security incidents
- Perform detailed analysis of security incidents to determine their nature, scope, and impact
- Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to correlate and contextualise threat data
- Incident Response:
- Develop and execute effective incident response plans to contain and mitigate security incidents
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure an organised and efficient response
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of incident response activities and outcomes
- Forensic Investigation:
- Conduct thorough digital forensics investigations and malware analysis to ascertain incident details
- Preserve and analyse electronic evidence in support of investigations and potential legal actions
- Security Technologies:
- Utilise cutting-edge security technologies including SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring solutions
- Stay up-to-date with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and industry best practices
- Incident Reporting:
- Prepare concise and informative incident reports detailing findings, actions taken, and recommended improvements
- Present incident reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders
- Security Training and Enhancement:
- Offer insights and recommendations to enhance the organisation's overall security posture
- Conduct regular security awareness training sessions for employees to foster a culture of security
To succeed in this role, you need at least five years of experience in cybersecurity incident response or a similar field in cybersecurity.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- At least five years of experience in cybersecurity incident response or a similar field in cybersecurity
- Industry-recognised certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC
- Proven track record in incident response and managing security incidents
- Profound knowledge of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and financial industry regulations
- Proficiency in using cybersecurity tools and technologies
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Capability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
