Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU(ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses onsystems-level research for tropical megacities. It performstranslational research that covers the energy value chain fromgeneration to innovative end-use solutions, motivated byindustrialisation and deployment.

The job is fora Programme Manager (PM) to assist the Programme Director (PD) ofthe ERI@N Interdisciplinary Research Programme focusing onArtificial Intelligence applied to Energy Applications. Thisprogram will enable AI and digitalization across the energy domainand the selected Programme Manager will have to work with andsupport other ERI@N Programme Directors and Programme Managers andlead the development of projects targeting AI applications acrossthe energy domain. This could include (but is not limited to) awide range of applications including AI for future gridapplications, predictive failure detection of Energy StorageSystems, optimization of the future hydrogen economy, clean futuremobility and smart buildings.

KeyResponsibilities:

To assist theProgramme Director (PD), in Scientific and Technical mattersrelating to their individual areas of expertise, the ProgrammeManager will support and / or lead the following activities:

• Participate in or lead research anddevelopment, demonstration, and deployment projects of innovativeenergy solutions, that entail research in energy systems andalternative energy sources.
• Support the PD inidentifying strategic R&D focus and support technical roadmapdevelopment and technology assessments for various energydomains.
• Recommend and support in developmentof strategic capabilities and core competence in targetedareas.
• Support joint research and developmentagreements such as Joint Industry Program, Research CollaborationAgreements with Industry or University partners and relatedprograms.
• Manage projects in the group and bethe Principal Investigator (PI) of selected research projects toensure projects are executed to meet the scientific / technicaltargets.
• Provide scientific / technicalleadership and mentorship to members of the research group,including relationship management with stakeholders (governmentagencies, key research partners, NTU Management and industrypartners).
• Support the research team in take alead in selected preparation of grant proposals, intellectualproperty filings, presentations in meetings, scientificconferences; publishing research papers in Journals / conferenceproceedings as defined in the project scope andagreements.

JobRequirements:

• Master's / PhDdegree in Engineering or Sciences or a relatedfield
• At least 5 years' experience with astrong research track record in fields of relevance to ERI@N(Artificial Intelligence as applied to power grids, renewables& integration, solar cells, hydrogen & fuel cells, energystorage, energy systems or other energy related applications) wouldbe essential.
• Familiarity with both academicand industrial research as well as the funding landscape enablingthese research programs is preferred.
• Goodwritten and oral communication skills and the ability tocommunicate with a wide range of individual and professional groupsincluding senior level management in both industry as well asgovernment agencies is required.
• Demonstratedleadership in RD&D in energy research as P.I of successfulcompleted multi-million projects/programs; strong publications, orintellectual property track record ispreferred.
• Able to work in and leadinterdisciplinary teams with a wide variety of competences and ahigh level ofdiversity.
