RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for Operational Risk Management, front to back in the MARK Asia Chain with a focus on Business line to develop and implement ORM framework and all associated policies and procedures and ensure they are effectively embedded into MARK Asia's control environment.Execute the mission statement by:

• Acting as specialist on Operational Risk Management for the business lines and building an Operational Risk Mindset within MARK
• Developing strong knowledge of MARK Activities, Processes, Risks and Controls by interacting with ORM teams as well as BMOs, traders, sales and engineers
• Developing strong practical knowledge of the regulatory framework around the activities within MARK business line
• Developing practical knowledge of the tools and referential data used in the management of Operational Risk and use those tools to record, report and analyse operational risk indicators
• Use above knowledge to pro-actively assess risk and design relevant, pragmatic control frameworks to mitigate operational risk with an eye both on securing the business and help developing business
• Coordinate with BCM team to ensure adequate and effective BCP for MARK APAC
• Acting as specialist on Permanent Controls, ABC Risk Assessment and Best Execution
• Reporting, investigating, finalising and monitoring remediation plans for operational Incidents
• Conducting the annual RCSA exercise and the associated follow-up actions
• Overseeing GPS controls management & execution
• Chairing or participating in relevant committees (e.g. Business Line Opcos)
• Represent MARK Asia in key global transformation projects
• Approach projects with sustainability, scalability and automation as key requirements throughout the project life cycle
• Contribute and cooperate with first, second and third line of defence teams both on the business side as well as on the support functions (operations, information technology, etc.)
  

PROFILE REQUIRED
Academic Background and Certifications, Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• 5 years minimum experience in operations, audit, markets division, IT and related Operational Risk Management experience would be preferred
• Solid Financial industry knowledge and regulatory framework would be preferred
• SFC Paper 1, CFA, FRM, MBA holders would be an advantage
• Advanced excel skills
• Programming skills in VBA, Python, C/C++ would be an advantage
• Strong critical thinking, good analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
• Proactive, willingness to learn in a fast pace environment
• A highly resilient, strong team player in working with various stakeholders in a complex organization environment
• Communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to interact comfortably with a variety of businesses, management, and control functions across the bank
• Self-starter strong work ethics and be able to work accurately under pressure
• Team player, proactively shares information and collaborates with others

Department Description

The MARK/BTO/ORM (Operational Risk Management) team oversees all activities performed by Global Market Asia teams from an Operational Risk perspective. It identifies weaknesses in systems and processes and implements controls to mitigate this risk and reports to management and second and third lines of defence. In addition, ORM works with the business and support functions to assure that emerging Risk is identified and mitigated with relevant controls.

ORM has two sub-teams: Business line Risk Oversight 'BRO' which has a focus on the Business Lines Operational risk topics such as Incident Investigations, RCSA, Permanent Control, Best Execution and Supervision, Referential and Control 'SRC' team which has a focus on transversal topics like Front Office Supervision and Anti-Fraud (WATCH Program) controls, Audio and Electronic Communication framework
