Job Description

Assistant Bar Manager

You are responsible for ensuring that the bar runs smoothly through management of day-to-day operations and set business objectives to maximise profits and increase patrons’ satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, hire, and train bartenders, servers, and support staff.
  • Create work schedules and manage staff shifts.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentorship to improve staff performance.
  • Address staffing issues and maintain a positive work environment.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure high-quality customer service is provided to guests.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Interact with patrons to ensure a positive experience.

Inventory Control:

  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering and maintaining liquor, beverages, and bar supplies.
  • Implement cost-control measures to minimize wastage and theft.
  • Monitor product quality and pricing.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasting revenue and expenses.
  • Track financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Generate reports on sales, profits, and expenses for management.

Bar Operations:

  • Ensure the bar is well-maintained, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for bar operations.
  • Monitor compliance with alcohol laws and regulations.

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to attract customers.
  • Organize events, happy hours, and promotions to boost business.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and distributors.

Security and Safety:

  • Ensure the safety and security of patrons and staff.
  • Develop and implement security protocols, including ID checks and crowd control.
  • Address any security or safety issues promptly.

Compliance and Licensing:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant alcohol laws and regulations.
  • Manage licenses and permits, ensuring they are up to date.
  • Handle inspections and audits from regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in bar management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Work Schedule:
This job has the following work schedule:
Rotating shift

10 hours shift

6 days / week
