Assistant Bar Manager
You are responsible for ensuring that the bar runs smoothly through management of day-to-day operations and set business objectives to maximise profits and increase patrons’ satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train bartenders, servers, and support staff.
- Create work schedules and manage staff shifts.
- Provide ongoing training and mentorship to improve staff performance.
- Address staffing issues and maintain a positive work environment.
Customer Service:
- Ensure high-quality customer service is provided to guests.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Interact with patrons to ensure a positive experience.
Inventory Control:
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering and maintaining liquor, beverages, and bar supplies.
- Implement cost-control measures to minimize wastage and theft.
- Monitor product quality and pricing.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasting revenue and expenses.
- Track financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Generate reports on sales, profits, and expenses for management.
Bar Operations:
- Ensure the bar is well-maintained, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for bar operations.
- Monitor compliance with alcohol laws and regulations.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to attract customers.
- Organize events, happy hours, and promotions to boost business.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and distributors.
Security and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and security of patrons and staff.
- Develop and implement security protocols, including ID checks and crowd control.
- Address any security or safety issues promptly.
Compliance and Licensing:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant alcohol laws and regulations.
- Manage licenses and permits, ensuring they are up to date.
- Handle inspections and audits from regulatory authorities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bar management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Schedule:
This job has the following work schedule:
Rotating shift
10 hours shift
6 days / week
